Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the resultant work-from-home environment, I wanted to make sure that my new Chromebook's battery life didn't suffer from being plugged in and heating up all day, or from power cycling too often.

The solution was clunky but functional, a chrome extension using the battery status API that lets me turn a smart outlet (with my computer charger connected to it) on and off and pre-defined charge levels - which (according to battery university) can increase your battery lifetime by up to 25,000%!
